Designing and Implementing a Quality Control Plan

Learning Objectives:

Pre-performance:
 Learn what Quality Control (QC) is and when it should it occur
 Learn the four key areas that must be considered in any QC plan
 Discover what workers, supervisors and project managers need before they start to work
 Evaluate and improve procedures to assure quality
 Write meaningful performance standards
 Define key measures for benchmarking quality

Performance:
 Learn to address five key factors for quality performance
 Identify and Define workers', supervisors' and managers' roles in QC
 Plan and measure the infuence of supplies and equipment on quality
 Identify and collect performance measures contributing to quality

Post-performance:
 Identify five key areas for employee feedback on quality
 Learn to make three decisions for coaching employees with sub-standard performance
 Design a multi-tiered inspection system
 Discover what should be inspected to ensure and improve quality
 Review seven types of sampling plans and their benefts and limitations

Purpose:
This workshop explores the necessary components for building and implementing a solid quality control plan. A series of exercises, discussions and brief lectures explores what should be included in a Quality Control Plan. Participants learn how to implement the plan, and explore different approaches to sampling and inspection. This learning experience is geared to project managers, supervisors and quality control inspectors. It may be helpful for Federal Government customer staff as well. The workshop is organized into three sections: pre-performance, performance and post-performance.
Audience:
This one-day workshop is intended for an audience of at least 15 people that includes project managers, supervisors and operations managers. Two or more NPAs are encouraged to host the workshop jointly if necessary.
Format:
The workshop includes both lecture and discussion.
