Contract Claims Management

Learning Objectives:

Purpose:
This workshop provides an overview of contract claims management, how contract agreements are achieved and changed, and the process by which either the contractor or the Federal Government agency achieves an equitable adjustment to the contract based on actual changes to the original agreement. Course material covers the various authorities by which contracts may be changed and the procedures to address the changed conditions.
Audience:
Front-line supervisors, project managers, project/contract administrators and other NPA leaders involved in the performance of JWOD service projects will fnd this workshop valuable. Those responsible for tracking contract performance (either from the actual performance aspects or fnancial aspects) will also fnd this training useful. This workshop is not specifcally tailored to address product manufacturing; however, the concepts taught may prove benefcial.
Format:
This workshop includes discussion and small group exercises. The instructor incorporates participants' specifc training needs and actual contract management issues into the format. As a result, the length of the workshop varies from two to three days.
Instructor:
Fil Tellez is a senior contracts manager with NISH and has prior experience as a warranted contracting offcer. He has extensive subject matter expertise in the Federal contracting arena. Tellez also brings his expertise from the NISH Northwest Regional Offce where he worked directly with NPAs and Federal Government agencies. Tellez blends his Federal knowledge and skills with his experiences in the private sector as a materials manager and purchasing professional. Jack Townsend, also a senior contracts manager at NISH, is also available for this course.
