Purpose:
In his best-selling book, The One-Minute Manager, Ken Blanchard introduced the term "managing by walking around." Since then, it has become almost a management requirement to spend a good deal of time walking around the workplace to assess performance. But, what should a manager look for? This workshop trains managers to look for specific items that will directly and positively affect performance.
Audience:
This workshop is ideal for supervisors, managers and leaders seeking effective, immediately applicable techniques to improve performance.
Format:
This one-day workshop begins with a brief overview of management theory and highlights the forces underlying each of the major approaches to management. It then explores how the workplace and market place is changing to highlight the changing demands on managers. With this foundation, four new management skills are introduced and examined.
Instructor:
A member of the NISH National Office Services Team facilitates this workshop. The National Office Services Team provides customer-focused administrative, technical, management and policy support to NPAs. The Services Team also provides training in all functional areas of expertise.
