Learning Objectives:
Review custodial estimator methods that include:
The Manual Estimating System using a calculator (based on a nationally recognized process)
Applying ISSA and BSCAI cleaning times standards
JET I Single Building for GSA and other single buildings
JET III Base/Post Wide Estimator for up to 10 levels of service

NOTE: This two-day course is available locally and regionally. A minimum participation of 20 is required.
Purpose:
The two day course will cover the basics of conducting a bid walk, understanding the building specifications, applying the Statement of Work/Performance Work Statement, applying ISSA and BSCAI cleaning times standards, understanding productivity, developing supply and equipment estimates, determining deliverables, scheduling and much more related to custodial operations.
Audience:
This workshop is for supervisors and project managers involved in developing custodial estimates. Attendees should have a basic math background and understand how to use calculators. Understanding how to use Microsoft Excel would be helpful but not required. The workshop is focused on providing attendees with the tools to develop AbilityOne and commercial custodial contracts by applying the appropriate cleaning times standards and frequencies to get the job done. Contact Mickey Crowe at ccrowe@nish.org or 678-581-7283 for more information.
Format:
The two-day workshop is a combination of lecture and exercises based on maximizing custodial estimators developed by NISH and other sources. Sample data will be provided to analyze the best approach to determining a range. Attendees will be encouraged to share how they currently put together bids and should bring their own laptops and calculators for the workshop. They will be provided their own copy of JET I and III on a CD as well as sample data collection tools that can be modified to fit their particular needs.
Instructor:
Mickey Crowe of NISH South Region has been involved in the custodial field for more than 30 years and is recognized as a consultant and trainer. Along with other credentials, he maintains the CBSE (Certified Building Service Executive) and RBSM (Registered Building Service Manager) designations from BSCAI and conducts training sessions focused on improving custodial operations.
