Host an AbilityOne Regulatory Workshop
Learning Objectives:
■ Discover the enhanced interpretation of "severely disabled" as defined by the Javits-Wagner-O'Day Act
■ Determine if the NPA is in compliance with the new AbilityOne ratio requirement
■ Evaluate current tracking and documentation systems to ensure requirements are being met
■ Determine commensurate wages and document any wage on a service or product contract to Department of Labor (DOL) satisfaction
■ Navigate the complexities of the Service Contract Act (SCA) and its required benefit payments for health and welfare, holidays and vacations.
■ Avoid back wage liability with the DOL
■ Interpret current compliance and enforcement policies pertaining to Federal contractors performing under the AbilityOne Program
Purpose:
This workshop provides a basic introduction to the laws affecting NPAs providing products and services to the Federal Government under the AbilityOne Program. Subject matter includes: the Javits-Wagner-O'Day Act (JWOD); the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) Part 525 (Employment of Workers With Disabilities Under Special Certificates); the Service Contract Act (SCA); and the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP).
Audience:
This workshop is valuable for employees involved in payroll, direct labor tracking, supervision of Federal contracts, and case management for employees with disabilities, as well as anyone responsible to ensure that NPAs meet federal compliance.
Format:
This one-day, on-site workshop consists of classroom instruction. Participants should bring sample documentation to address policy questions.
