Continuing Education Units

NISH training courses receive Continuing Education Units (CEUs) through the Rehabilitation Counseling Department, Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. To attain CEUs, participants must attend the entire course, complete the CEUs form provided by instructors, and return the form to the NISH Training Department. Individuals must provide their social security numbers. For more information, contact the training team at 571-226-4573.

In addition, many of NISH's training courses are eligible for CEUs through training partners such as ESI International and the American Management Association (AMA).

Regional Training Opportunities

NISH encourages regional training to meet the unique needs of NPAs across the country and offers support through its National Office for additional training in the six NISH regions. NISH hosts training programs at the request of NPAs and based on the results of regional needs analyses. Again, participant feedback counts!

NISH and the National Council of Work Centers (NCWC) also offer training on a regional basis. These programs are designed to assist NPAs participating in the AbilityOne Program. Regional and NCWC programs meet regional needs and address regional issues. NISH's goals are to educate new NPAs about AbilityOne, provide NPAs with a history of AbilityOne participation with the most current information on NISH and AbilityOne, and to review changes in the way NPAs do business with the Government. Attending these regional training sessions provides many benefits. Regional training opportunities allow NPAs to meet and network with one another. Of equal value are the lessons learned from fellow NPAs. Those involved in AbilityOne always enjoy sharing information about their successful projects! Additional information on the dates and locations of Regional NCWC Conferences is available from the NISH Regional Offices.

Continuous Improvement and Feedback

NISH's continued success depends on its customers. NISH is committed to constantly improving its training and looks to customer feedback to help it meet that goal. NISH values customer participation and suggestions. Instructors distribute course evaluation surveys at every session. Please complete and return these forms so that NISH can continue to improve its service. Thank you!

NISH encourages everyone to participate in training events that best meet current needs and requirements. The following information, including the standards for AbilityOne performance excellence, leadership competencies, supervision competencies, and project management competencies, is provided not only to help individuals select the courses that offer the best outcomes and skills to be successful, but also to help individuals establish a training plan that grows with them.
