Who Should Attend Training?
Each course description indicates the target audience
who, generally speaking, benefits the most from
the training. Please refer to the individual course
descriptions and the "Which Courses Do I Take?" guide
on pages 35 through 39.
The NISH board of directors invites NISH and NIB
organizations to participate in training programs. These
organizations are referred to as nonprofit agencies
(NPAs) throughout this training catalog. Other members
of the AbilityOne family are also encouraged to attend
classroom courses. These groups include:
- Federal customers
- State vocational rehabilitation agencies
- Other referral sources
- State-use programs and state rehabilitation organizations
- Members of NPA boards of directors
For more information regarding eligibility for NISH
training, contact the Director of Training at
571-226-4602.
Registration
Approximately 10 weeks before each training
program, online registration for classes opens at
www.nishacademy.org. NISH also mails brochures
that provide registration and hotel information.
Registration information is published on NISH's Web
site, www.nish.org. NISH also accepts registrations
via fax and mail. NISH regrets that it cannot accept
advance or telephone registrations and recommends
registering as soon as possible. All participants who
are successfully registered will receive a confirmation
e-mail with the course location, dates, and times.
Although NISH accepts training registrations up
seven days prior to the first day of training, it does not
guarantee the availability of reduced rates for hotel
lodging after the deadline published in each training
brochure. To receive the NISH rate for accommodations,
please register and make hotel reservations prior to the
cut-off date.

Participant Cancellations
Individuals who register for a course and cannot attend
are strongly encouraged to cancel their registration
online at www.nishacademy.org. Contact the NISH
Training Department at 571-226-4534 or 571-226-4547
for your username and password. NISH's more popular
courses often have waiting lists. Participant cooperation
and consideration allow others to take advantage of the
training opportunity.
Training Schedules and NISH Cancellation Policy
NISH makes every effort to adhere to the published
schedule but reserves the right to make adjustments.
Please refer to NISH's monthly magazine Workplace
and the NISH Web site (www.nish.org) as resources for
updated training information and schedules. Anyone
who does not receive a brochure within four weeks of
the scheduled program date should call the Training
Department to request a copy, or access updated course
listings from the NISH Web site (www.nish.org).
NISH reserves the right to cancel or postpone
training events in emergency situations or due to low
enrollment. NISH is not responsible for reimbursement
of airline tickets and/or other accommodation or travel
fees if a program is cancelled. NISH will make every
attempt to communicate cancellations as quickly as
possible to all registrants via telephone, e-mail, and fax.
Including accurate and complete contact information
on registration forms helps enable NISH to contact
registrants if necessary and is greatly appreciated.
There are a minimum of ten registrations for a class.
If you are waitlisted for a class please postpone
making travel arrangements until you have received a
confirmation email, not just the registration email.
Dress Code
For individual comfort, the dress code is business casual
for all training events. Please remember that meeting
rooms frequently vary in temperature. NISH suggests
that training participants layer clothing and have a
jacket or sweater on hand. Even in the warmer months,
training locations may be too cold for comfort due to
air conditioning.
