In some cases, the subject matter of your content might be relevant to more than one page on your site. If you want to publish a resource on multiple pages, you can use the copy feature to post it in more than one location. You can copy the following types of resources.
Documents
Links
You copy documents and web page links using the copy button. It looks like this:
When you click the copy button, the item is copied to the clipboard. From there, you must open the page where you want to copy it. After the page is open, click the paste button to copy it into the current location. If the component where you copy a resource supports collaboration, it must be reviewed and approved by a content manager before it's available to other people.
Warning
When you copy a resource in Click Extranet, you are not really creating multiple existences of the resource. Rather, you are cross-posting the same resource into several locations. If the resource is subsequently changed, the change will be evident in all existences of the resource.
When you copy a resource, it automatically adopts the security privileges of the component where it's placed. In other words, when you copy a resource, you grant new Read, Contribute, and Content Manager permissions, based on those set on the component. However, if the resource has custom security settings defined on it, the permissions won't change, no matter where it appears. Therefore, if you want permissions on a resource to remain unchanged when it's copied to another page, you must apply custom security settings to it.
To help simplify the maintenance of your site, Click recommends that you implement custom security settings only when necessary. For more information, see Set permissions on your site.
To copy content to another page
Open the page that contains the item you want to copy.
Click next to the item you want to copy.
The Clipboard appears with the item you just copied on it.
Open the page where you want the item to appear and click Clipboard on the top right of your page.
Click the check box next to the item you want to copy.
Click the Paste button.
If the page where you're pasting includes more than one component that holds your selected resource type, you'll be prompted to choose the right component.
When you're done, click Close.
Depending on how the component where you paste is configured, the result of copying a resource might be different.
If collaboration is not enabled on the component, the resource will immediately appear in it.
If the collaboration is enabled on the component, it is placed on a Pending Items tab until a content manager on the component approvies it. After it's approved, it will appear on the page.
